Here are some questions for all you economists out there, which stem from a startling acknowledgement made by InstaPundit's Glenn Reynolds regarding his blog's long-standing practice of outsourcing its linking to economics and business related blogs:
- What is the economic impact of this outsourcing decision to the blogosphere? Does InstaPundit's outsourcing scheme create more blogging opportunities or does it lead to less blogging activity on the whole?
- How are bloggers being affected? Who gains and who loses? For example, are many bloggers are going unread because of InstaPundit's practices or are bloggers in general gaining audience because of the outsourcing?
- What benefits does InstaPundit gain from outsourcing? What risks does InstaPundit face in its strategy? What opportunity costs does InstaPundit have as a result of the decision to outsource?
And we haven't even touched on the political, ethical or legal implications of InstaPundit's outsourced work. Could congressional hearings be ahead in the future for our erstwhile Mr. Reynolds?...
