Meanwhile, the question of whether all of Santa's reindeer are female has been raised because while all reindeer grow antlers each year, male reindeer typically lose their antlers a month or more before Christmas comes around, which would mean that if we see Santa's sleigh being pulled by reindeer with antlers, they would have to all be female because they lose their antlers much later.
But at least one reindeer herder has an alternative theory that might explain how at least one of Santa's reindeer could be male. Click the iPlayer symbol in the lower left corner of the picture below for the audio explanation....
